Jackie Stogsdill wins 2006 I.B.S. VFS Score National Championship!
... And Al Kogoy, Sr. wins 2006 I.B.S. VH Class!!!
Congratulations go to Jackie Stogsdill of Somerset Kentucky. At the 2006 IBS Score Nationals held October 21st & 22nd at the MGGOA range in Georgia, Jackie absolutely dominated the VFS field to take the IBS VFS National Championship. Jackie won the 100 yard leg with a solid 250-23X score, and then, under very demanding conditions, he won the 200 yard leg with an exceptional 250-15X score. Not only did his combined 500-38X score win the National title, it also bested the next closest shooter by a whooping 5 X’s, AND tied the I.B.S. aggregate 100/200 yard Score RECORD!!!!
When asked if he was using a Kostyshyn barrel, Jackie replied “Of course!” And for those keeping track, that's two consecutive I.B.S. Score VFS National Championships won with Kostyshyn barrels!!!
Congratulations again to Jackie on an astounding display of shooting skill.
And once again, congratulations to Al Kogoy, Sr. who won yet another National VH Championship. Al's dedication to the class and his shooting skill all contribute to his continued domination of the VH class. And of course, this is the second consecutive National title Al has won using Kostyshn barrels! Great shooting Al !!!
Dean Breeden Wins IBS LD Group National HV Aggregate
Congratulations to Dean Breeden, noted IBS Score shooter, who decided to try his luck at the IBS Group Long Distance Nationals held at theWeikert PA range on July 15th & 16th. Shooting his Kostyshyn barreled 30BR, Dean placed 1st at 200 yards with an agg of .2148” and 10th at 300 yards for the overall HV Aggregate National title. Yes, that’s the HV LD GROUP Aggregate!!! (Who says 30BR’s won’t shoot with PPC’s?)
New IBS World Record!!! (Unofficial)
Just In!!! - Just got a call from Al Weaver - and apparently Al was using a fresh Kostyshyn 30 cal. 17T barrel when he shot a new IBS World Record in 100 Yard Varmint for Score benchrest competition at Sulphur Springs PA this past weekend (May 14th, 2006). Al's 250-25X target included 21 Wipe-outs, 2 higher than the pre-existing HV record. Al is a great guy and one helluva competitor, and Kostyshyn Precision Barrels would like to congratulate Al on his record setting performance and thank him for his confidence in selecting a Kostyshyn barrel. (Note: This potential record is not official until properly certified by the I.B.S.)
2005 Results: Continued Success!
With the 2005 competitive benchrest season now complete, Kostyshyn barrels extended the tradition of winning which began in 2003 and continued through 2004. Although Kostyshyn Precision Barrels is a small and new custom shop with a very limited number of barrels in competition, Kostyshyn barrels continue an astonishingly strong record of success in short and long range benchrest and High Power competition!

Kostyshyn Precision Barrels wishes to congratulate "Humble Henry" Rivers for an outstanding season of competitive benchrest shooting!!! In a fiercely competitive field, Humble Henry racked up SOTY points all season long, but really pulled out to pass when he began shooting his Kostyshyn barreled "Casper" rifle, and nailed one after the other critical 100 yard events to clinch valuable state championship points. Well Done Henry!

(Vol.52, No.6 pp.68-77) The article entitled "MAK's New XC Repeater Tube Gun - Stellar Accuracy From A Rem 700 Magazine Fed Rifle" details, with numerous excellent illustrations, the building of a superbly accurate iron-sighted rifle for across-the-course highpower competition chambered in 6mm/22-250 using a Kostyshyn barrel, a Remington 700 action and the new MAK Enterprises XC Tube Gun Kit. MD State LD Champion - 1st Place with a Kostyshyn Barrel!
After a weekend of intense IBS Score competition at 200 and 300 yard distances inThurmont MD this past weekend (Aug 14th & 15th), a weekend which included record setting performances at both 200 and 300 yards, David Apple emerged as the only competitor to "stay clean" for both days, shooting an outstanding 500-17X score to take the VFS (Varmint For Score) aggregate win for the weekend. David was shooting a gorgeous new rifle (pix coming!) built by Sid Goodling with a Kostyshyn 30 cal. 17 twist barrel chambered in 30 Maddog (30 BR). Congratulations to David on a fine performance!
600 Yard High Power Win with New Cartridge & Kostyshyn Barrel!
John Harrison shot his 6mm 8T Kostyshyn barrel equipped AR-15 chambered in a new cartridge - the 6mm HAGAR, to a solid win in the 600 Yard phase of the VA State High Power Championships held at Quantico VA on June 26 & 27th. The 6mm HAGAR (Harrison And Goodling Automatic Rifle) was jointly developed by John Harrison and master gunsmith Sid Goodling, and is designed to shoot high BC 105 gr. Berger VLD bullets from an AR-15 platform. John selected a Kostyshyn barrel for the project, and describes the rifle as "a Hammer!!!". We'll likely be seeing more of John and his 6mm HAGAR rifle in the High Power winner's circle in the near future.
